Model Beauty Routine: Julia Titus

Julia Titus skincare routine

We get in touch with Los Angeles based model, Julia Titus, to find out what is in her skincare routine and what beauty tools she's currently loving. Let's find out!

How does skincare fit into your lifestyle as a model?
It needs to be quick and easy — we are constantly on the go and most of the time I just don’t have the patience or time to follow an extensive routine. Really, it’s about letting my skin breathe on days off or casting days and any makeup I am wearing on my face, I make sure has ingredients that are working for my skin instead of just sitting on top of it. In general, I follow a pretty basic routine that works for me and my dry skin.

What's your go-to ingredient in your favorite skincare?
SPF! I never skip a day without it. Aside from keeping my skin safe and fresh looking, I have vitiligo, which outlines my mouth and goes down the back of my neck, SPF helps me to conceal the vitiligo so it’s not as noticeable, especially in the summer months.

To help my dry skin, Squalene and Shea Butter have been an integral part of keeping my skin from completely drying out.

What is your favorite Skin Gym tool?
I haven’t had a chance to make it in to Skin Camp for a facial yet, but I do have a rose quartz crystal roller that is similar to the ones that are sold at Skin Gym. I absolutely love using it in the mornings to help depuff my face and wake me up! (I put it in the freezer before rolling).

Why is finding a skincare routine important to you?
My skin is sensitive, so a skin care routine helps me feel more comfortable and confident throughout the day and in front of the camera.

What products & tools do you include in your skincare routine?
Less is more, I use a hydrating gel cleanser, follow up with a moisturizer, and finish with a face oil. Sometimes if I need a little extra TLC, I will freeze my rose quartz roller and use that on my face to help depuff!

Do you stick to one skincare brand or mix it up?
My facial cleanser has been pretty consistent lately (Paula’s Choice), but I love to mix moisturizers and facial oils between brands. I ALWAYS make sure my skincare and makeup is cruelty-free. One of my favorite oils I’ve been using lately is the “Beauty Serum” by Bella Skin Beauty and I recently picked up the Sea moss-Rice Water Face Cream by Nova Sage at the Melrose Trading Post that I’ve been keeping in my moisturizer rotation. As for sunscreen, I alternate between Coola and Supergoop which are cruelty free and reef safe!

Any latest beauty trends you’re currently loving?
I am absolutely loving the skincare infused makeup from brands like Ilia, I feel like if you’re putting something on your skin then it should be working for it, rather than against it. I read somewhere a while back that your skin absorbs about 60% of whatever you put on it, since then I’ve been mindful of the ingredients in my skincare and makeup.

I’ve also been loving the no makeup-makeup/skin first trend that’s been happening for a while now. It’s so beautiful to see individualized beauty being celebrated.

What is your go-to for relaxing after a long day?
A hot shower (tip: hang fresh eucalyptus in your shower to steam it out), comfy pjs (can’t skip the fuzzy socks), watching a movie, drinking hot chocolate or tea, and snuggling with my dog.

What is one skincare secret you are willing to give away?
What you put in your body is more important than what you lather on your skin. Healthy skin can’t exist without a healthy diet!
